Power Platform Dev Weekly #196
Welcome to the Power Platform Dev Weekly!
As the populous returns to work, content starts to be related to the community and we are grateful for everyone taking the time to put content out there during those January blues! The Microsoft specific announcements are a little sparse at the moment as they come back from the holiday period however!

🥇 Cover Story
hosted by David Warner
A different take on our headline story this week but this is an hour of content worth highlighting to everyone who may not have seen it. The Community Call run by David Warner is a great call to be a part of this and the first of 2024 was an AWESOME hour.
Multiple legends on the call including Kevin McDonnell, Enea Liçaj, Jon Russell and Mike Gowland all show some really quality things and it’s a really strong start to the year for the Community Call. Special thanks for David Warner too for working tireless behind the scenes to pull these calls together!
💎 Model Driven Apps & Dataverse

A good, in detail blog post about running CRUD commands in different ways and at different points of the tech stack. Very interesting though provoking discussion.

🏋️♂️ Canvas Apps
As someone who joined the developer community by studying Computer Games Development at University, it’s always fun to see worlds collide and this post is a great example of that - really fun in depth post about how to build a 2D game engine in PowerFx!
by Matthew Devaney
Interative processes are always difficult in Power Apps, join Matthew as he talks about his findings in dealing with galleries and how to patch your way through them.
😎 Power Automate
by Troy Taylor
Mr Custom Connector, Troy Taylor (this is’s name for Troy, he doesn’t call himself that…) actually has 3 posts this week and it’s refreshing to see content that fails. We all get it wrong and sometimes, the platform won’t do what we want - Troy shows us here how a connector won’t import due to a platform limitation and it’s nice to see the processes of how and why.
by Mike Gowland
Nulls, Blanks() and everything in between. Mike is showing you how to keep Power Automate as efficient as possible with some clever hints and tips.
by Carl Cookson
A new version of Carls XrmToolBox tool has been pushed live - allowing batch enabling/disabling of flows. Lovely quality of live improvement and a time saver for anyone who needs to do this!
👍 Everything else in Power Platform
by Carl Cookson
Carl puts his enterprise architect hat on and talks us through his thinking when it comes to large scale implementations. A great theory based post written by someone with years of expertise.
AI Prompts using AI Builder has been in Power Automate for some time and there is a preview action of using GPT with a prompt - this blog post talks about that action.
